Most of my working life I have been involved in engineering and wood has been a hobby. In the early
1980's I started an engineering company manufacturing high speed steel rolling machines, but I have
always had a home workshop. Working with hand tools and real wood gives something of a satisfaction
that engineering never did and making something that feels good to touch always has a special appeal
to it.
Maybe it's an age thing but at some point I decided a happy life would be better achieved doing
something I love doing, so the decision was made to turn a serious hobby into a new career.
I studied Cabinet Making and furniture design at UCLAN under the experienced eye of Gary Wilson
himself a talented cabinet maker and tutor.
And now its several years later and I have decided to slow down a bit, so I am no longer takeing
commision. I’m just doing selective work and trying to do the thing I like doing. Being a furniture maker
has been a real pleasure and I have met some great people. I would like to thank everybody who has
been brave enough to support me over the last few years.
