Most
of my working life I have been involved in engineering and wood has
been a hobby. In the early 1980's I started an engineering company manufacturing
high speed steel rolling machines, but I have always had a home workshop.
Working with hand tools and real wood gives something of a satisfaction
that engineering never did and making something that feels good to touch
always has a special appeal to it.
Maybe
it's an age thing but at some point I decided a happy life would be
better achieved doing something I love doing, so the decision was made
to turn a serious hobby into a new career.
I
studied Cabinet Making and furniture design at UCLAN under the experienced
eye of Gary Wilson himself a talented cabinet maker and tutor.
I
currently work from my workshop in Cam, Gloucestershire
making commissioned pieces of furniture and craft items.
